Premium Members Stephen Murphy Posted October 26, 2004 Premium Members Report Share Posted October 26, 2004 Watching the new dvd of the untouchables and in the BTS doco's theres plenty of footage of an operator running around with a Panaglide (with plenty of gaffer tape holding the monitor together!), but it doesnt look like Larry McConkey: ive always been under the impression Larry did all the steadicam in this picture. Did another op work on the movie as well? And who did the fantastic sequence leading up to the accountants death in the elevator?

And who did the fantastic sequence leading up to the accountants death in the elevator? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Larry did do the elevator/accountant shot but others like Greg Lunnsguard (sp?) did the walk through the Sean Connery's window shot. I can't tell you who had the taped up monitor but Larry used his rig so maybe if it was the Panaglide it was Greg. I don't remember if others did any work on the film but I don't think so. Premium Members Stephen Murphy Posted October 26, 2004 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted October 26, 2004 Thanks Janice, Ive always liked that elevator shot. Its a shame a lot of the older movies didnt give any steadicam credits, im thinking of the early carpenter movies like Halloween and The Thing which make extensive use of steadicam/panaglide but no operator credits. Even goodfellas is missing a steadicam op credit: and is there any mention of Larry on the new dvd? nope. Maybe we need to hire a PR agent for the steadicam guild?:) Get us some quality face time! :D
