I'm assuming you are looking for advice on how to make it heavy enough for the arm. Weight plate. Unless you have enough accessories to build it big enough, which is extremely doubtful. There are plenty of threads here about mounting DSLRs to rigs, most of those threads will have plenty of advice. Any thread about mounting a DSLR to the Flyer, for example. A weight cage would be a better bet - gets the added weight further from the gimbal, - gets the gimbal closer to the lens. Bigger concerns - unless you just want to shoot wide angle with the lens set at the hyperfocal distance - is how to set up the lens with focus motors, make for easy lens and battery changes, add mattebox - i.e., turn it into a professional tool, rather than just attaching it somehow for a specific shot. There are professional (or commercial) gadgets for some of these functions; you should check them out to see if you can adapt/modify or copy aspects of them to make it work. Isn't the minimum on the G-50 around 12 lbs? Most 5D st-ups I've seen/heard about are no more than 7 lbs, and often less than 5 lbs. Without a weight plate that is. Or if your name is Charles Papert. In the interest of having a lighter more Nimble (Charles have you copyrighted this name yet?) rig, and given your familiarity with the new Zephyr, do you feel that it is a viable solution that will be able to handle all the AKS necessary for professional use (i.e. remote focuser, transmitter,etc). I do have a rig that can accommodate larger cameras and their needs , so I wanted to keep the 5D rig as light as possible and still be able to support the day to day needs of most job situations. It's what the Flyer always should have been, IMO. As a Flyer owner, I love the Zephyr. Still Love my Flyer mind you (may it RIP wherever it may be), the Zephyr is a great improvement. I still haven't heard any definite pricing, though someone who went to a workshop mentioned on the forum that it would be the same price as a Flyer LE. I dunno if that's true. If it is, it is totally worth the wait. If it's only a little more, it's totally worth the wait. If it's a lot more, the weight capacity isn't worth the price.
