Premium Members Sydney Seeber Posted August 28, 2010 Premium Members Report Share Posted August 28, 2010 Sydney, this was my $110 solution for the next 18 months, and it uses an existing practice cage. that's more my style since everyone's showing theirs I'll show mine... I've got a (Professional) cage there surrounded by my own custom built concoction which is an aluminum weight cage that uses a battery mount in back. The battery can slide back and forth while providing power to the follow focus receiver, not that it's really necessary for most setups, but that allows for the cage to be flipped back and forth between low and high mode while detaching a minimal amount of cables. Premium Members James Davis Posted September 3, 2010 Premium Members Report Share Posted September 3, 2010 Hey guys, this UK company, make a nice weight plate for DSLR use that I have used several times already: They normally throw it in with their flyer kits on hire, getting one with the archer kit I have on the way, as i've done a lot of DSLR work lately: http://opticalsupport.co.uk/steadicamnewused.php?product_id=
Premium Members Jess Haas SOC Posted September 3, 2010 Premium Members Report Share Posted September 3, 2010 I may go to Modern and purchase some of their 5/8" rods in varying lengths that screw together to extend. Keep in mind that if they screw together a focus motor has the potential to unscrew them. ~Jess
Premium Members William Demeritt Posted September 4, 2010 Premium Members Report Share Posted September 4, 2010 Keep in mind that if they screw together a focus motor has the potential to unscrew them. ~Jess Of course, far be it from me to defy the right-hand rule.
