Premium Members JobScholtze Posted November 2, 2004 Premium Members Report Share Posted November 2, 2004 Yes, i did the upgrade for the sk2 arm one's. It is not ideal. Because your post is short, you will have problems with your monitor against the second arm. It will not help you with any weight problems, and is very expensive. The only good thing is that you will have a little bit more boom range. My advice, sell it and get yourself another rig. After the upgrade i sold the rig and got myself a glidecam gold. And that is a BIG differences. No more problems. Hope this helps you. Greetings Job
Premium Members Marco Dardari Posted November 4, 2004 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted November 4, 2004 Job, thank you for help. Do you have buy a complete glidecam gold or only the arm for sk2? How much you have spold for the second arm for sk2? Because the glidecam gold is very expansive. thank in advance Yes, i did the upgrade for the sk2 arm one's. It is not ideal. Premium Members JobScholtze Posted November 4, 2004 Premium Members Report Share Posted November 4, 2004 I just sold the hole system and bought a new gold completely. Don't try to upgrade a SK2, it will be a waist of money. Look for a second hand Provid ore better a EFP. There is one on EBAY right now. Good Luck
Bob Busch
does the sk and sk2 have an arm flaw? can I use a arm not made for the sk? can you expound on this "reverse arm explosion" on other thread Bob Yes, i did the upgrade for the sk2 arm one's. Premium Members JobScholtze Posted May 31, 2005 Premium Members Report Share Posted May 31, 2005 can I use a arm not made for the SK?can you expound on this "reverse arm explosion" on other thread Bob If you change to another arm, mostly you have to change your vest asswell because you probably will fly more weight. If you still wish to upgrade the arm and vest, you need to upgrade the gimbal too. And you cant get any dynamic balance right now, the post is short, battery fixed etc etc, so you will hit your monitor with the arm like you do now. I found this on the net, look under parts. CHECK THIS OUT My advice, don't go that far. If you fly the XL1, keep flying. Go to steadirig ore tiffen and ask them to flip the arm. ( 2 Section bone first connect to vest ) Don't turn it around yourself because it may explode. ( happed to me one's )It's not made for upsidedown. And the part connected to your vest is not that great on a gimbal. :D If you feel you want to move up, sell it and get some other rig Just my 2 cents [edit] I don't know if the flyer arm will fit on the sk, somebody? Premium Members Mikko Wilson Posted May 31, 2005 Premium Members Report Share Posted May 31, 2005 The flyer arm at least uses a stocket block connection - so ti at least requires thw Flyer vest (or at least a flyer socket block) - Note: The flyer socketblock is NOT the standard socket black, but a slightly smaller [cheaper] version that works the same way. - Mikko
