You're right, that's a serious extension (the "f" bracket or whatever it's called now days) btw the arm and gimbal. That f*** bracket is one of Larry's toys. It's handy for seated hard-mounts so you can circle the arm around your knees. We weren't using it for added extension, so there was no extra strain on the rod ends or the block. It does put a lot of extra strain on the arm post, though both Larry's G70 and the Pro we tested handled it fine. The total load on the arm was 35kg (77lbs). The 3D camera rig alone was 27kg (60lbs). I remember not 5 years ago we were flipping out over flying the G2 conversion kit (just under 40 lbs) and Mellinium (2 lbs less) cameras. And now it's ok? And not only is it ok by a few more pounds but by a dozen+ pounds? I know someday this will be fixed with smaller set-ups but when is too much too much? For the love of Zues' butthole the havok on the human body caused by all that weight will be felt by grandchildren! Although it is simply inspiring that Larry continues to push the process not only for himself, but for all of us. In a recent conversation with him, weight had less to do with his concerns than the problems associated with convergence adjustments and its effect on quality steadicam operating.
