It uses the same cable my T2i has, which has the same plug as a mini USB. Hi Jonathan. The above posts are correct, it's a mini stereo connector on the 5D. The 7D has the mini USB like the T2i. Unless newer 5Ds have the mini USB too, but I haven't seen one yet. Then again, I'm the guy who swore (and still swearing) he worked with a 7D that had the same mini stereo connector as all the 5Ds he's worked with! The only reason I thought that was because I was using my T2i for the last shoot I was on, and when we switched it out for a 5D for one shot, I didn't have to change my cables. That's the only 5D I've ever seen or worked with though and know nothing else about them. The camera was considerably bigger than the T2i, and everyone else on set was calling it a 5D, but who knows, it could have been a 7D and I wouldn't have known a difference, since I've not seen one of those in person either.
