Premium Members James Takata Posted August 13, 2010 Premium Members Report Share Posted August 13, 2010 Here's a solution to an issue I just had using a RedByte Decimator to downconvert HD from a Red to composite SD. The refresh rate in the camera menu must be at 59.94 Hz to get a picture. At 50Hz the Decimator can't translate the image. There are tiny LEDs on the side of the Decimator. One should be red (HD) and the other green (SD). When the signal is at 50Hz the red LED will be off. The 1st AC was not aware of this fix and claimed that the only setting in the menu was from HDMI to SDI. Luckily this came up at the prep rather than on set!!!
