Premium Members Stephen Murphy Posted November 3, 2004 Premium Members Report Share Posted November 3, 2004 Im just looking at various options for a case/bag for my new Klassen vest, because my old vest case is too small. Whats everyone else using? The Vest case from Rocsteadi looks pretty cool but has anyone tried it?
Premium Members WillArnot Posted November 3, 2004 Premium Members Report Share Posted November 3, 2004 Hi Steven, I have Tim's vest bag from RockSteadi. It is great for a FM vest & the arm too sits nicely within the vest. However this bag will not get the BM vest in it without first removing the Carbon Arm. Even then I have to use some effort to squeeze it in there. It just became too much bother, so now I use the soft carry bag that comes with the BM vest. I can get the arm inside the vest (in the Rocksteadi Arm bag) w/ both in the Klassen bag. When I travel with it I pack it in a Rubbermaid Action Packer and this works well for shipping. I believe Howard makes a nice rigid / padded case for the BM vest. Certainly take a look there before you buy elsewhere. Also, the fact that the new Genesis version of the Klassen vest seperates completely at the front door, makes it much easier to pack small. I am having my traditional vest retrofitted with this Genesis front door panel as I found it to have a much better fit across the front of my hips. Let us know what you come up with. Premium Members JamieSilverstein Posted November 4, 2004 Premium Members Report Share Posted November 4, 2004 In a word, ACTION PACKER. Ok its two words, but for the money its a great way to transport the vest. That Will Arnot is such a wise man.......
Premium Members Stephen Murphy Posted December 10, 2004 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted December 10, 2004 Hi Guys, Ive just received my new Vest case from Tim at Rocksteadi: He has modified his original design to accomadate my Klassen Vest. My vest fits easily into the new bag with the carbon arm attached, and plenty of room left over. Its a very nice semi-rigid design and attaches to the end of your magliner, which i think is really cool. Im a pretty big size vest so id imagine this bag would accomadate most/all sizes of Walters fantastic vests. Heres a picture: On a related note i also got one of Tims "anita" pads for handheld shooting: a really cool idea that saves your shoulder alot of discomfort, and very reasonably priced too. Cheers,
Premium Members Markus Rave Posted January 11, 2005 Premium Members Report Share Posted January 11, 2005 I am using the bag Walter supplies with it most of the times. Recently we were shooting in Dubai and it would have broken my heart to send the harness with no protection. I bought a Pelicase 1620. The vest fits right in there as if it was made for the vest. Has a collapsible handle and rollers. When it came back I was happy the vest was NOT in the bag but in that case :) Markus
