Hello Everyone...I think its time I chime in here regarding the Mod 51 rant and come to some explanation. Firstly, while I cannot speak about their level of Customer Service I will try to explain a few things. I know the people at Mod 51...great guys. Over the past years our bags (yes, they are the same bags!) have been manufactured by a small company who are HUGELY busy ALL THE TIME. They make a lot of gear for law enforcement, fire, military etc. They are a small company with only a few employees. Recently, to make things worse, they were sold to new owners who have taken some time to get up to speed with what we, as film industry technicians, require. However, while the transfer was pretty smooth, it did increase wait times to the ridiculous and to my present customers I apologise. My latest order ships out Monday.

FURTHER, for me at ROCK STEADI GEAR I use United States Postal Service as my shipping agent NOT Fedex!! Rules have changed around shipping Commercial products to the USA and abroad. EVERY commercial invoice over $150.00 MUST go through a broker. FEDEX takes care of this but, obviously, with FEDEX and the huge boxes we ship come huge shipping costs. I use USPS for ALL shipping. This means that I must jump through many more hoops but it means you save on your shipping costs. I now try to do batch orders and ship a minimum of four orders at the same time...I'll see how that goes.

I guess what I really want to explain here is that since all orders are custom made to order AND given that my manufacturer has a 4-6 week wait time (and are trying hard to better this!) explains, in part, why it takes so damn long to deliver great products to you. Thanks for being patient.
