That is right, Eric. The motor is large and limited in rotation. We aware that the motor is far to be quiet as all its brothers from servos family :

Say more: the system is wired.

The positive things are:

high precision,

it can run cine lenses

and, probably, the lowest price.

The target group is indie and low budget filmmakers, TV Ops, who making music video, football competitions broadcasting, commercials etc.

Our goal and fun is to hit unusual goal. Up to now we tried to produce reliable device for crazy low price. The next step is to build radio-link for this system.

The cheapest concept is almost done and ready to meet first buyers as we are ready to meet first " tomatoes". :D

We intend to come up with some unusual and higher priced products for Pros.

Brian and Vladimir;

I think you're on the right track. Obviously you're working on the noise and size of the motor.

I think the DSLR and light camera systems as well as light camera jibs would love a dependable system for $700.

Think of schools too. Lots of colleges have departments and gear but no way to manage Follow Focus.

Beware, I'd say those are also the markets that are rough on gear so make it durable.

Good luck.

As promised, I keep posting news about BVFF:

1. We have some devices ready for sale, 700$ + shipping.

2. Radio controlled system is to be ready by December.

3. New low-noise motor is under R&D (we desperately trying to come up with prototype ready to February).

4. BVFF presentation in St. Petersburg went very productive: good critics, new ideas, few compliments. (Someone shoot one dialogue with his mobile phone).

Here is our fresh official site.

With the best regards -

Vladimir
