David Bertinelli
As a newbie to the site I'd like to hear from the members as what you think. I have shot with a Canon XL-H1 mounted to a Flyer, but now am looking at a Pilot flying my Sony EX-1. Would the Pilot be the most suited to the EX-1? Sorry about the topic title, I changed up my question and was unable to change the title. Cheers, D Edited October 4, 2010 by David Bertinelli
Premium Members sebastien BARBARA Posted October 4, 2010 Premium Members Report Share Posted October 4, 2010 I tried the EX1 on my pilot a few month ago. The arm supports it. I even flew an EX3 for a short film. But this one is the limit to it:)
Premium Members Brian Freesh Posted October 4, 2010 Premium Members Report Share Posted October 4, 2010 Any rig that has a maximum weight limit higher than the weight of your complete camera set-up is fine. A bare EX1 with a battery is around 5.5 lbs (but I dunno if you have a wide angle adapter, follow focus, wireless vid/audio). A Pilot will take 10 lbs. That'll work. A Flyer (depending on what model) has a maximum limit of 15-20lbs, so that's fine. If a camera is below the minimum weight of your rig (5 lbs on a Flyer) you can always add weight.
