Modular 51 reliable?

Hi everybody,

 

I’m a AC in France since 1992 and very well know now. I have assist almost all the best French steadicam operators. I have also assist Larry McConkey in IMAX when he comes to France in 2003 on the “Tour de France”. I’m just saying that, to make understand that my post is not a bad joke. And I also flying my own steadicam now, I really love that!

 

I need help from one of you, living in the US, to intercede at Modular 51 for me.

I have order them one arm bag and pay for it $211,95 ($110 + shipping cost) by PayPal on August 30th. (PayPal Transaction # 44C62110HE1204804)

Since, I’m still waiting for a sign. I had email them 3 times asking for shipping date, a tracking number, or at least “Hello”. But they never reply.

Finally, I ask them to give back my money, but still no answer.

 

If someone has a phone number, or knows how to make them move, like shipping the item, or give my money back, he will have all my consideration.

Forget Modular 51. Get your money back and get in touch with Tim Moynihan on this forum (RockSteadiGear). He is not fast but reliable and his bags are first rate (and I believe made by the same people as Mod 51 products). He delivers as he says he will and answers e mails as well as doing a TV series! My assistants have given up on Mod 51 for flakiness.

I will also never use Modular 51 again -- their customer service is the worst! Too bad their products are really nice that people put up with it. I owe Tim a phone call as well, as Russ said he at least returns calls and e-mails so you know the ball is in motion. There is a thread on here with his email and cel number so I am sure he can help you with other goodies and might be able to get you some info on Modular 51 as well. The stuff that I bought took about 8 weeks and they just showed up one day. No returned emails or phone calls, it was weird. Good luck, hopefully Tim can help.

Thanks for reply, at least I don’t feel alone now.

 

I don’t understand why they are like this, it takes less than 2 minutes to send an email saying, “Thanks for your order, we are a little busy here, we expect to send your parcel in 2 or 3 months”.

 

If I knew it before, for the same price and delay, I would order anywhere else, we all deserve some respect.

 

Modular 51 has received two orders from me, the first and last in the same time.

Good news, I had just receive an answer form Modular 51, maybe that is a start of improvement of their customer service.

I'm sorry to say that you should be more concern about customer's email, really.
It's seems you have disappointed some of your customers before, not only me, and if you still wanna be in business in the future, replies!!!
Your products are very good, my advice, do so with your service.
I was so disappointed that I have open a post at http://www.steadicamforum.com, under "General discussion" about Modular 51. Have a look when you have time.

I was working on the feature "Battleship" here in Hawaii and saw the FIZ bag that the assistant had and asked him where he got it.. the 2nd ass't broke out laughing and said "good luck.", now I know what he meant.

I love the FIZ bag, however waiting for months is not worth it.
