Premium Members Peter Abraham Posted November 19, 2010 Premium Members Report Share Posted November 19, 2010 Congrats to NBC Steadicam Operator John Montalbano on a fantastically operated single shot today on "The Today Show". This Today Show Link shows behind the scenes as well as a feature on the college video that went viral, inspiring this network version. You made our Steadicam Ultra look good ! Great job to you John and your able crew of utilities and assistants. Fun to watch and no doubt fun to operate. Best to you and your colleagues. Premium Members Kris Torch Wilson Posted November 19, 2010 Premium Members Report Share Posted November 19, 2010 Nice job John. Did you all notice how many T-shirts said 'Producer?' And I thought our show was top heavy!

Premium Members Mike Germond SOC Posted November 20, 2010 Premium Members Report Share Posted November 20, 2010 If you watched the full show, he got a little face time with his kid in a later segment.
Joshua Miller
If you watched the full show, he got a little face time with his kid in a later segment. ...and used his child to demonstrate the movements of a "steady-cam". Pretty hilarious. Fantastic work! Going down those tight stairs must have been tough even in a don juan. Blew my mind.

Premium Members Norbert von der Heidt Posted November 22, 2010 Premium Members Report Share Posted November 22, 2010 Great job and especially when dealing with non-professional actors for the most part. :D A shame they didn't bring him in with the rig show the folks at home and give him a much better show of appreciation than just a "Thanks to the Steadicam crew" Definitely a One'r to remember! Premium Members Erik Brul Posted November 22, 2010 Premium Members Report Share Posted November 22, 2010 Well, would be nice indeed to see John again in the 'live' picture with the rig strapped on. But he got some nice coverage at approx 03:00 / 03:05 where you can see John in the face with the rig strapped on.. The part of the clip outside is supercool, all that crowd.. A GREAT one'er to remember for sure!
