Hello all,

The folks over at Lentequip are working on something new which will be FCC compliant. Not sure when the units will be released but it will be soon. Stay tuned ....I predict these units will be major contenders in the HD wireless tx/rx game.

Best,

Bry

Started with the modulus, then the Marell... Then I got a custom set from "the boxx" and the rest is history..

Have used their latest HD version for about a year now, and its simply the best.. Only down side is maybe the size of the transmitter.. But except from that.. Best system available.. Period..:-)

All the best

Jacques from Transvideo has said he'll be happy to supply a Titan HD for a comparison test. PM me if anyone wants to follow that offer up.

All the best,

Chris

Wow, this comparison will be great! I hear good things about the new Titan and have used the Meridian (really solid...and huge like everyone says). But -- as I said in another thread -- I hope the Transvideo wins so we won't have to hear about how unfair or rigged the comparison was.

Maybe we can make this happen soon?! We will have to have a day out in the boonies (just put the xmitter in a car and drive away into the sunset) here in So Cal, and day in a stage (had bad luck at Fox with the Camwave) and then a day or two at Times Square/in and around the city for our East coast bros.

Let's start thinking about this!

Ok guys, well this again is why we are going to test these suckers against each other, because that way we really can learn which is the "best system...Period". Or at least take our best shot at it--no way to test every possible difficult environment.

I'll start working on this, maybe we can fit it in before the holiday.

My Boxx Meridian is so solid that in Midtown Manhattan, 51st and Lex, I was able to send a HD signal around a corner and remain completely locked.

Try that!

I think that is where the famous pic of Marilyn was taken over the subway grate (or was it 52nd and Lex).

While the size of the Meridian Tx is considerably more than the analog UHF gear we now take for granted, the performance has amazed folks both in the RF hell of Midtown Manhattan and the open waters around our locations in Connecticut. Sure, cost is always a factor but between the performance and the wireless "freedom factor" in HD work, the decision came easily enough for me.

Hi Brant,

I really like the idea of Charles' transmitter test. Sounds like the "Great Transmitter Shootout of 2011" can't be to far in the future. I would also love to see the Transvideo HD Transmitter.

I have a question about Rental. Are you able to charge enough for the transmitter to make it worth the purchase price? Or is the cost of the transmitter just kind of amortized into the cost of your rig?

I know that on commercials producers are paying $500/day for a full kit for a reliable SD transmitter like the Navtech Rover : http://www.nebtek.com/products.php?cat=98

The price goes down on longer term rentals. Of course some video assist guys that own them just use them to make the cables go away!

At upwards of $15K for the purchase price My guess is that going rate would be around $750/ day at .05 of purchase price. Are you getting anything near that?

I have had very mixed results renting my Camwave HD. Some places it is outstanding, some places it won't transmit 10 feet. It depends on the environment and it always does better in high reflection locations like sound metal structures then outside.

I am very familiar with the Meridian having shared booth space with The Boxx at the ET show.

Happy New Year!

Hi Ron,

I bought the Titan HD Tx Rx while I was in Berlin. I used it for transmitting off an Arricam LT, so it was SD, but the signal was outstanding. I used it at Alexanderplatz in Berlin, which is kind of the centre of radio and cell phone transmission and it was rock solid. The picture never had a dropout. I never measured it, but it was 100 metres away on occasion with absolutely no problem.

I also used it up a concrete and steel stairway at Messe Berlin, and the reciever was downstairs. It transmitted up 2 flights with not a glitch.

I had not read the manual when I brought it on set (opened the box in my hotel room and brought it to set) so could not figure how to pair the TX RX.

I made a call to my friend Chris Fawcett in Amsterdam, who very kindly took me through the setup (which was very straightforward).

Since the initial pairing I have never had to do anything.

I clip the Tx onto my Ultra2 sled (V-lock) and power the receiver up and it works.

I dont think about whether or not they have a picture at video village anymore.

I have not seen the other systems being discussed, but the transvideo works great.
