Moderators Janice Arthur Posted December 6, 2010 Moderators Report Share Posted December 6, 2010 Hi all; I just want to say that remember how cool a job we all have! Countless thousands would sell their souls to do what we are doing for a living. Remember that in the worst moments of every job and smile. Stephen Lighthill said in the ASC mag this month, "Be the happiest guy on the set." That's deep. I've been around long enough to know all sides and you'll never know when its your last job; or last set of job; last year of jobs. It'll happen to you at some point and you'll look back at those days as the best of your working life. Take a moment on any job to enjoy the experience; the skill; the people; the location; the actors; etc. Its a worthy moment to savor and not always in retrospect. . . savor them as they happen. I've talked to older folks than us who have retired and they only think of the good moments not the bad ones. A bad back etc can ruin lots of things so it can turn on a dime for any of us. Savor the day, even though at any moment it can suck. I wish I had done a diary of just the locations I've been to. I drive places today and I say, I had a shoot there, and there and there. God knows what jobs I've forgotten. Just take a moment! JA
