Howdy all,

Just wanted to commend Steve Consentino on his work on "Birth", the apartment interior shots were quite impressive. I understand that Will Arnot and Garrett also contributed- great work all around- really liked Garrett's opening scene of a jogger in Central Park.

Not only was this film beautifully lit and photographed by Harris Savides, but the Steadicam was superb.

Worth a look.

I presume that fantastic opening shot was done on the SuperFly cam?

Nope, Central park said no. To the best of my knowledge it was Garrett on some type of vehicle in low mode- but others who were there may have more info on this. I only know what little was said in the screening we had with Harris this weekend. Also of note is spectacular focus pulling with virtually no stop on very old style, (Boltar{sp?}), lenses. A tip of the hat to Eric Swanek.

Actually i was reffering to the opening shot: the high wide angle following the jogger around the park, under the tunnels etc.

If GB did that with a super post then he deserves major kudos. Its a beautifull shot.

Sorry Steve, but just to be clear:

It wasn't Garrett on a superpost, he was on some type of vehicle, and I overheard that he was in low mode while standing up, but again- I wasn't there.

Perhaps Will Arnot has some insight here- I don't want to ramble on about something I didn't see myself.

Hi Guys

Garrett did the opening high tracking shot (it was ment to be Superfly cam)

He told me he was on top of a Van with a vechile mount and he had the spintech on for the snow - which just happened as they started to shoot.

Hope this helps - I have yet to see the film, but it sounds like a great scene.

All the best

Howard
