Hi seniors my company had purchased an archer for a year , i'm having loadsa problems with it , firstly the base of the sled which holds the monitor gave way during a live recording to my horror there's only 4 little screw holding the whole base . G-50 arm is a good arm i admit comparing to the provid we use to have, but the gimbal holder on the arm was also held up by a small screw again and its detachable i don't remember the provid arm having that problem at all,was thinking is this factory default???

There should be more than just the 4 screws, there is also a hinged metal joint inside, and the locking collar that screws down to hold together the post and lower sled section, if these items are not present then be very worried, you do not have a complete sled!

I own an archer 1 and I think it's a very durable set-up, not quite as nice to balance as some sleds but hopefully that will be fixed to a degree when I purchase that additional battery plate you can get made by Hocus Focus, should provide a bit more weight towards the front.

Gotta say I also love the arm too, but then again I haven't tried a pro arm yet, i've been told I shouldn't until I have the money to buy one....as I will want it.

Hi there I modify my Archer 1, this is how it looks now.... it's easier to balance and still folds down...., the little set screw sholdn't come loose that easy in the arm post, the other screw is for adjusting the rotation of the post, you can lock it..

Hi james it is 4 screws only and a locking collar , i was shocked at 1st i thought it wasn't serious but it was! as times go by the base gets looser and looser... i tighten the screws up bt it finally gave way and i bought 4 new screws to hold it up again.... balancing it i fixed two eagle clamps in order to balance with RF cameras it's ugly but it works...

Seen it once before, but it just never gets old, what an awesome looking sled, would love to see the step by step of how you did that, and know what parts you used, I have half an idea with the front section and the monitor arm, but not sure what parts the back section are, from another sled or...?

Either way, awesome custom job you did there.

Hi there... thanks, the modification was made by Howard Smith at MK-V USA, you can e-mail him at Howard@mk-v.com; The base is the Genesis and all you have to do is usea couple of parts from the old base; also cut the cables and re-attach the connectors..... the lemo, bnc and battery plate.
