Premium Members Sarah McCulloch Posted December 15, 2010 Premium Members Report Share Posted December 15, 2010 Hello everybody, Ive got a creaky arm , I've dissassembled it , got all the dust and grit out , and have wiped most of the grease off in there in the process. Which type of grease do I use , to re-grease it ? There's a rubber covering over the top springs so I dont want to put something on there that will corrode it. Should it be a silicone grease ? Im not too sure and I dont want to mess it up - any recommendations would be gratefully received. Its an actioncam zero g arm. Cheers, Sarah McC. Premium Members Caleb Ennis Posted December 15, 2010 Premium Members Report Share Posted December 15, 2010 ACF-50 is what I use. Try searching it has been discussed many times.

Not recommended unless you are taking the arm into extreme conditions. Sparing drops of Teflon lubricant is better: http://www.radioshack.com/pwr/product-reviews/Cables-Parts-Connectors/Chemicals-tape-adhesives/Oil-lubricants/RadioShack/p/2102643-Precision-Oiler.html

What's the issue with it? Is it damaging in any way? LE
Premium Members chris fawcett Posted December 15, 2010 Premium Members Report Share Posted December 15, 2010 Caveat: I could be mistaken here... I used it when I was in the Amazon for 5 weeks, but under normal conditions, it's just unnecessary. Mind you, you live in Norway ;)
Premium Members Caleb Ennis Posted December 15, 2010 Premium Members Report Share Posted December 15, 2010 Yeah i use it once every year or two... I never have squeaks just do it to keep corrosion off and lube the bearings.
