Magliner Jr. upgrade

Hey all,

I have had a Filmtools Magliner Jr. with all the Steadi bits on it for years now.

Now that I got a nice van, where I can push my cart right in, I'm thinking of upgrading to a Sr. as I have plenty of room, and it would be nice to carry some extra cases on the cart.

Question is: is it worth to just buy the Sr. parts (frame and shelves) and exchange it with the Jr. bits? (pneumatic wheels, front assembly where the handles go, etc) or are the savings so small it's better to just get a regular Sr. and transfer the Steadi bits?

Has anybody done this?

Thanx!

"The SR is a bitch to get around with... If you've streamed lined to a Jr. I would stay with that. I almost wish I had bought the Jr instead."

Gotta go with Alfeo on that. Granted, I'm in NYC so a lot of the buildings are older, but I used to own a Senior and ended up buying a Jr (Bought the decked out cart - minus the Steadicam parts and moved them over) after too many AC's complained.

hey guys

I am in the progress of making my own line of steadicam/camera carts

and just aproved the drawing of the first demo

this will be finished in one month.

it will look like a cross between yeager/erwin and my own thoughts

I came with the idea because I always think that the magliners are a bit wobly

when finished I will post some pictures....off course

greets mike

Maybe the best solution will be getting a full functioning SR

If your still bent on the SR, maybe we could work out an upgrade for you with my SR

The Key to using a Jr is a decent "Cofin Box" with three drawers sitting on the bottom of the cart.

Hey Eric, I just may be downgrading to the JR (Daniel???) Could post a few picks or point me to where I can find his Coffin Box?
