Armand-Guy de Beer SASC
Greetings! What could possibly cause a rig that is balanced statically and hangs perfectly, to go seriously out of kilter when spun to about 180 degrees? The post is straight, the gimble etc all appear to be right. Edited February 1, 2011 by Armand-Guy de Beer SASC
Premium Members William Demeritt Posted February 1, 2011 Premium Members Report Share Posted February 1, 2011 Do you mean to say that during a whip pan or even just a steady pan, by the time it reaches 180 degrees it's completely off horizon, etc? If so, then your dynamic balance is completely wrong.
Premium Members chris fawcett Posted February 1, 2011 Premium Members Report Share Posted February 1, 2011 Greetings back! If you mean that the rig hangs out of balance when you rotate it 180 on the stand and leave there, then you need to re-centre your gimbal. This should be something you can do yourself fairly easily, depending on the rig. If so, give us some details. One of us will probably know the rig in question.
