Moderators Alec Jarnagin SOC Posted March 31, 2011 Moderators Report Share Posted March 31, 2011 Job, Yes, this is what Anton Bauer has always said and I have done it for years. This does make one pause for a moment and rethink things though.

Premium Members pauldudeck Posted May 20, 2011 Premium Members Report Share Posted May 20, 2011 HI Guys, Sorry I am late to the party. I have been so busy the past few months, that I have not had a chance to log in lately. First, the HC is a 91wh battery and the ALEXA camera alone consumes somewhere in the neighborhood of 100w. So, without any accessories, you are looking at about one hour of run-time. Add accessories and your run-time is going to decrease. The camera does have an internal dc/dc converter which will upconvert the voltage from the battery on the rear of the camera from 14.4V to 24Vdc. The 2-pin Fischer, like mentioned in a previous thread, I thin can only take 24V/28V in. The old saying "watts is watts" applies here. Whether you use a 90wh 24V/28V battery or 90wh 14V battery, your run-time will remain the same. The amount of current pulled from the battery will be higher from a 14V battery, than a 24/28V, so, as mentioned in a previous thread, the life span will be affected. Another neat thing with this camera is you can hot-swap from the battery on the rear of the camera to the 2-pin Fischer connector. If you have a battery on the rear of the camera and the battery is starting to die, then you can plug a 24/28V battery into the 2-pin Fischer, and keep power going. Hope this helps......
