Only much later I learned that it was an earth quake. That´s because in Thailand there are almost no english speaking TV stations or radio stations. Very convenient for those few million tourist and foreigners...... I was on one of those beaches a few days ago, but I and the korean/thai crew moved out yesterday......... The news was talking about 400 victims in Thailand and still missing people. The also talked about some extra shocks to come. Take care. Personally I have no damage, but this country will have another recovery, maybe for years. , Economic crashes, Sars, Avian Flu and now this..... On the other hand, life goes on here, outside the affected areas, almost as if nothing happened. In fact, I am surprised by the low general interest here in Bangkok. But my girlfriend was just asked to come to the french embassy to help translating for stranded foreigners.
