Premium Members Caleb Ennis Posted May 26, 2011 Premium Members Report Share Posted May 26, 2011 Hey guys i just sent Marshall an email with my issue. Figured in the mean time ill see what you guys thought of it... The past couple HD shoots i will plug up my monitor through HDSDI, it will work fine for the 1st half day. I turn off the camera(Varicam)usually to change the battery. I turn on the sled/camera and the monitor will only display a green tinted picture. Sometimes the signal is sporadic as well.. I have also tried multiple cables with different lengths direct wiring from the camera to the monitor. It also does it occasionally with my AF100. Thinking the monitor could be over heating? Thanks guys sorry hard to explain in writing.
Premium Members Alfeo Dixon SOC Posted May 26, 2011 Premium Members Report Share Posted May 26, 2011 Have you tried to turn the camera on first and then the monitor? I had a similar problem with F900's and my UltraBright2... the particular frame rate of 24fps on the F900 was not liked... 23.98fps was ok. To further confuse things the factory was testing with the newer cinealta EX1 or 3 and both frame rates worked fine. All this to say it could just be a legacy firmware issue with the camera, has it ever been updated?
Premium Members Caleb Ennis Posted May 26, 2011 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted May 26, 2011 Thanks for the reply Alfeo! I thought of that and turned the camera on first then the monitor. Still had the same issue. The Varicam im not sure on the firmware its not mine. The AF100 tho has the most current firmware update from Panasonic. It happened yesterday with the varicam. We were shooting 60fps. With the AF100 typically we shoot in 24fps. Its weird because it works sometimes, usually beginning of the shoot then it suddenly stops and gets green tinted or no signal at all. Usually when we turn off everything for a break or to change sets.

It always clears up pretty quick after cycling through the side monitor switches and the buttons. JA
Premium Members Jess Haas SOC Posted May 27, 2011 Premium Members Report Share Posted May 27, 2011 The only time i have sen anything similar was with low battery power. How are you powering the monitor? -Jess
Premium Members Caleb Ennis Posted May 27, 2011 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted May 27, 2011 John- That makes since it getting to hot. That is what i was thinking since it fires up good beginning of the day. Still haven't heard from Marshall tho... Jess- I typically power it through my sled via Hytron 140's on heavier cameras. Lighter cameras such as the af100 i run a dionic 90 on the back of the monitor. I checked the battery gauge and i have a volt meter on my sled and it was still half full. Thanks guys for the feedback!
