Premium Members TerryWest Posted May 26, 2011 Premium Members Report Share Posted May 26, 2011 Just placed an order for the Epic power connectors. I will soon be able to make Steadicam to Epic cables.
Premium Members Ants Martin Vahur Posted May 26, 2011 Premium Members Report Share Posted May 26, 2011 Hi! Is it different from Red One connector? Ants Martin
Premium Members TerryWest Posted May 26, 2011 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted May 26, 2011 Yes it is a size 1 split key female 6- pin connector with four power pins in a diamond shape and two smaller ones that you probably won't care about. Premium Members Ants Martin Vahur Posted May 26, 2011 Premium Members Report Share Posted May 26, 2011 Ok, thanks! I thought it was a different one, just wanted a confirmation. I should probably anticipate the situation this time and get one for Epic already. Otherwise it happens like with Red One, that I am getting the power cable two years after working with it- I'm getting the Red One power cable in a few weeks.. :) Ants Martin
Premium Members James Davis Posted May 26, 2011 Premium Members Report Share Posted May 26, 2011 You might want to read this first: http://www.steadicamforum.com/index.php?showtopic=13624 and then speak to Red and verify if this is true. If it is, it may well negate the need to spend out on an additional power cable.
Premium Members Frederic Chamberland Posted May 26, 2011 Premium Members Report Share Posted May 26, 2011 Hi, Here is the PDF for the EPIC voltage input. The complete manual is up on the REDUSER forum. Search under RECON section. Cheers.
Premium Members Mike McGowan SOC Posted May 27, 2011 Premium Members Report Share Posted May 27, 2011 I also heard from one of the red guys (working with epics 2 weeks ago) that the final pin config set up for the epic may yet change.... Premium Members Frederic Chamberland Posted May 29, 2011 Premium Members Report Share Posted May 29, 2011 Hi Mike, Just got confirmation from Stuart English (red bomb squad) : ...:The pin outs described in the manual (depending on manual version it's somewhere between P 125 - 129) are correct. There are also pre-fabricated cables, and you might consider buying one of those and changing the non-camera end connector if you have a special application in mind.... Cheers. Frederic I also heard from one of the red guys (working with epics 2 weeks ago) that the final pin config set up for the epic may yet change....
