Ricardo Casco Posted June 16, 2011 Report Posted June 16, 2011 (edited) So after digging through a bunch of old boxes in the attic, I found one of my childhood friends, K-Nex. And the box hadn't been touched for many years, so I decided to procrastinate on work this afternoon and build a "Steadicam" out of K-Nex  Here's the arm so far, issue is that it can't hold its own weight, which isn't surprising. I may seriously spend all night perfecting this, I can't wait to throw an iPhone or some light weight camera on it and check out the footage it can make. I really don't expect the footage to be good at all, but this will be a fun hobby. And once its done, I may just pull a prank on someone and walk into set wearing this. And say "What??? This IS my Steadicam!" Edited June 16, 2011 by Ricardo Casco Quote

Premium Members William Demeritt Posted June 16, 2011 Premium Members Report Posted June 16, 2011 Bring it to set, but only off a job you bid from Craigslist. I say you'll make it to lunch before someone catches on. Probably doesn't have HD signal issues when people are on their walkies nearby. Quote

Premium Members James Davis Posted June 16, 2011 Premium Members Report Posted June 16, 2011 I'd like to buy one but i'm concerned about one of the terms and conditions in the warranty being "customer service staff shall be allowed to shout at will, when you dare to question or raise a known issue regarding the equipment".....also.....can I get one in blue? Justin R Goff Posted June 24, 2011 Report Posted June 24, 2011 This is awesome. You should definitely try to walk onto a set with this, and see if anyone catches on! Quote
Premium Members David M. Aronson Posted December 28, 2011 Premium Members Report Posted December 28, 2011 Didn't Garrett make a Merlin/JR/Smootie out of Lego for his grandkids? Combine that with a vest made at build a bear workshop, and you have the makings of the worlds most colourful rig! Quote
Premium Members Michael Nelson Posted January 5, 2012 Premium Members Report Posted January 5, 2012 Oh, man! I loved these things! The vest should be made from an old life jacket! Quote
