Richard James Lewis
I've emailed Howard,.. but just incase... Is there a bracket out there, or will I be needing to 3M Dual Lock it to the J Box? What are people doing? Thanks in advance. Rick.
Premium Members James Davis Posted June 18, 2011 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 18, 2011 Hi Richard, I can't comment on the MKV specifically but I have a custom plate/bracket on my archer designed specifically for the MDR2 box which replaces the long nose section that comes as standard. I would be more than happy to sort you out with photos and measurements if there is not an off the shelf solution. I don't think it would be too costly to have something machined as it is quite a simple item. I'll see if I can borrow some calipers or you are welcome to pop by the studio sometime if this is helpful at all.
Richard James Lewis
Hey James. I think I've seen the same kind of thing done to your Archer before. The Optical Support special treatment. Won't work for the MK-V tho. There are tiny screw holes each side of the J Box, so there must be a way of doing it, as clearly it's been thought about. Anyone using an MK-V and MDR 2? Rick. Anyone using an MK-V and MDR 2? Well if it was a Pro or XCS it would have screw holes on the Camera Mounting platform and use a Preston mount that both Pro and XCS make The omission of said mount on MK-V's part is asinine
Premium Members Joel San Juan Posted June 19, 2011 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 19, 2011 Hi Rick, Maybe something like this? I used them for a bartech bracket i had. Maybe this could work with your MDR2? Not too sure. Best Joel

Richard James Lewis
Thanks Joel. It means there must be some hope. If he does them for the BFD then he should do them for the Preston. I'll investigate, thanks for the help! Rick. No worries Rick, I hope that helped. Yup got them from MK-V a while back. Best Joel

Premium Members Felix Forrest Posted June 19, 2011 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 19, 2011 See pics. The V3 focus mount is also available in V2/Evo size - both from MK-V - the 'H' shape bracket is a part from Preston themselves. The focus mounts uses the pre-tapped holes on the J box - you attach the 'H" to the MDR and the focus mount before fitting to J-Box and all sorted. Christian Betz also does a bar mount adapter correctly spaced to mount the 'H' to the 15mm bars on the Betz/Delux top stage (shout if you need a pic).
