Premium Members Nils Valkenborgh Posted June 19, 2011 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 19, 2011 Hi all, While browsing for a secondhand big rig, I stumbled opun this awkard item on the Belgian secondhandsite 2ehands.be http://www.2dehands.be/foto-camera/digitale-cameras/overig/steadicam-master-kit-klassen-vest-90347830.html?qq=steadicam&pcpl=&pc_id=&afd= As you can see the auction contains a Steadicam Master sled, a Master Arm and a WK vest. This all for the ridiculously low package price of €3800 (5400$). This led me to investigate and send the seller an email. The likelihood of this auction being real is of course non-existing. I still haven't got a reply (surprise) from the seller but i can imagine his email would contain such instructions as "Transfer the money through Western Union/MoneyGram/(insert shady transfer agency) and as soon as the money is deposited I will send the product, once you confirm the arrival of your package only then will I be able to collect the money" It seems to me the scammer in question isn't even an ambitious one, €3800... seriously. And if it IS real, then I've got a cheap steadicam master (even cheaper than said price since I will sell the Klassen Vest) Greetz Nils

Premium Members Erik Brul Posted June 19, 2011 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 19, 2011 Hi Nils, Neighbour Erik here :) This is 200% a scam advertisement. These are 'stolen' pics from the Steadicam Master Elite from Jammie Hammond. Take a look at: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Steadicam-Master-Kit-Klassen-Remote-Focus-Iris-Arri-/180681785214?pt=UK_Consumer_Professional_RL&hash=item2a11793f7e Cheers, Erik

Premium Members Nils Valkenborgh Posted June 22, 2011 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted June 22, 2011 Hi guys, These were exactly the responses I was hoping for. Yesterday I got a reply from a man with another name, Bruno Conway. He told me he moved to Schotland and that he could send the package to Belgium. That being said, £17000 is certainly a good deal on such a magnificent rig ;), but for now it's a little beyond my price range. Thanks for your replies Nils
