Premium Members David Karger Posted June 25, 2011 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 25, 2011 Hey everyone, I just bought a Flyer LE and am reading the manual trying to achieve dynamic balance. The problem is that when I try to spin my sled on the Steadistand, the monitor hits the center post of the stand, so I can't really tell if it has dynamic balance very well. I only get about 3/4 of a turn before the monitor hits. It doesn't say anything about this in the manual. It seems to suggest that I should be able to spin the sled around continuously for numerous rotations. Anybody have any ideas? Am I doing something wrong? Do you have a shot in mind in which you will need to spin it more than 270 degrees? I've only seen that intentionally done once. After all, you'll see yourself in the frame. If not, 270 degrees should tell you all you need to know about how well dynamically balanced you are.
Premium Members sebastien BARBARA Posted June 25, 2011 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 25, 2011 (edited) Did you try to bend the stand (be carefull to ask someone to secure the base of the stand with one foot) ? If you use my method of testing Dynamic Balance you will have no problem. Do a search on 90 Degree dynamic balance
Premium Members RonBaldwin Posted June 25, 2011 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 25, 2011 Erics method involves too many equations and onky works at sea level. Do a search for my method -- 90 proof dynamic balance. All you'll need in addition to your gear is some good scotch, a rolled up newspaper, a match, a stuffed animal (Elmo will do) and black gaffers tape.
