Premium Members Nikolay Kerezov Posted July 21, 2011 Premium Members Report Share Posted July 21, 2011 Two months ago ,when cleaning on of my arms I’ve noticed that two of the bearings are in bad condition. So ,I’ve ordered all the bearings (without the trust bearings) and new specially treated axels, so I can re-anodize and re-paint every part. So far so good….But what I have found when de anodize the parts shocked me: Cracks all over the long sections of the arm ,especially where the axels and the bearings are. I’ve ask a “specialist” ,who told me that those can be welded and will work fine. Hmmmmmm……. Tried on one of the sections ,but I did not like how it looks. So the dilemma was : to save this arm for spears, or to order a new sections .As I’m not really a rich guy and the arm with my back-up sled where already for sale ,I’ve decided to make new sections . It took the machinist almost two months, but yesterday I had them and send them for anodizing. Do any of you guys seen this before? I know IIIa/Luna arms are old ,but this….
