Buster Arrieta
Hi all, Something I've noticed on some ops, some of them wear knee pads and elbow pads, I have some, but... does it improve safe operating? Just would love to know everyone's opinion on this one.... Thanks!
Wicked_Chicken
Does it improve safe operating? I'll I have to say is it's tough to op with a busted... well, anything! I wear drywalling kneepads. They are really comfy, and extremely durable. I used to wear rollerblading pads, but they looked dorky...
Premium Members Charles Papert Posted January 15, 2005 Premium Members Report Share Posted January 15, 2005 Can't quite figure out elbow pads. 20 years in, and I've never banged my elbows yet. But knee pads are very useful, although I only wear them in situations where there is a possibility of falling (running shots) or having to work from a kneeling position (music videos) etc.
Premium Members Frederic Chamberland Posted January 15, 2005 Premium Members Report Share Posted January 15, 2005 Hi, Call me chicken, I always wear kneepads on rough terrain and as soon as I get to go a bit faster. I do remember the picture of a shattered kneecap posted from an operator a while back... Kneepads are to my operating what my seatbelt is to driving. Forget about the cheap 20$ rollerblade ones, get to a skateboard or mountain bike shop and get what the pro skateboarders use: they are wide, comfortable, thick and most important, they are designed with freedom of movement in mind. Check those out, My kneepads, that is 50$ well invested. I do not use elbow pads either. Use protection and fly safe.
