Gail Gong
I just got a scout to fly my canon 7D. To see my camera signal on the scout monitor, I think I want to connect my camera hdmi to the bnc. Can some one tell me if that is correct? If so, I do not believe I have a cable that can do that. Do I try to find such a connector at Radio Shack? Thank you anyone for your help.
Premium Members Mark Schlicher Posted September 18, 2011 Premium Members Report Share Posted September 18, 2011 Welcome to the forum. The HDMI won't work. The Scout is standard definition. You need to use the standard definition cable that came with the 7D, it has video and two audio outputs, RCA-type. You need an adapter from Radio Shack that converts RCA to BNC. Plug that into the top of your sled. Tidy it up with velcro or twisty-ties and gaff tape so it doesn't flop around and mess up your balance. The cable you are talking about, the one that came with my 7D, is it the one that plugs into the "A/V out digital" hole and has three connectors on the other end (colored red, yellow, and white)? Again thanks for your reply.

Again thanks for your reply. Yes, that's the correct cable. If your Scout package is complete, you should have the (make from the yellow rca connector a bnc connector) plug in your kit. You should have a picture on your scout screen now :) Cheers, Erik
