Camera on Sled - Long Term

Not sure what you mean by long term but I've done stage shows where my sled was built for months at a time. On the show I'm doing now it regularly stays built with a 3d beam splitter rig for days at a time. What sort of issues are you worried about?

Mike,

Thanks for the reply. Its been 3 months with a Sony HD Camera, LCD Promter, Focus system and other accessories on the sled (Artemis)and it has held up well. As for issues........I just wanted to know if anyone who left a rig built and loaded for long periods of time has experienced any issues that I should keep an eye out for. I check the rig daily and when I put it away for the night I bring the stand to the lowest point possible and cover the sled.

Thanks

Adam Keith

Adam--One thing to check would be all screws and fasteners on your topstage. Make sure they are tight and secured. Also, at some point, when you have a S L O W day, take your gimbal off, break it down and clean your bearing. Great thing to do on a "rainy day."

Same thing goes for your arm. Clean and inspect all components.
