Premium Members Mike McGowan SOC Posted October 7, 2011 Premium Members Report Share Posted October 7, 2011 Not sure what you mean by long term but I've done stage shows where my sled was built for months at a time. On the show I'm doing now it regularly stays built with a 3d beam splitter rig for days at a time. What sort of issues are you worried about? Its been 3 months with a Sony HD Camera, LCD Promter, Focus system and other accessories on the sled (Artemis)and it has held up well. As for issues........I just wanted to know if anyone who left a rig built and loaded for long periods of time has experienced any issues that I should keep an eye out for. I check the rig daily and when I put it away for the night I bring the stand to the lowest point possible and cover the sled. Thanks Adam Keith
Premium Members Brant S. Fagan SOC Posted October 8, 2011 Premium Members Report Share Posted October 8, 2011 Adam--One thing to check would be all screws and fasteners on your topstage. Make sure they are tight and secured. Also, at some point, when you have a S L O W day, take your gimbal off, break it down and clean your bearing. Great thing to do on a "rainy day." Same thing goes for your arm. Clean and inspect all components.
