It is the main long post, with the sliding base that locks into the small dovetail plate that's a part of the sled box post. The two pieces together allow you to move your sled for and aft in relation to your centerpost, allowing for precision balance. A must for anyone who has a Model III sled and wishes to upgrade, or has a home build rig and wants to be able to both telescope AND go fore-and-aft.
