Sony F3 can't output HD-SDI and SD at the same time

I have my F-3 in front of me now with the latest firmware v 1.31 and S-Log 4444 Dual Link Upgrade.

Just to confirm: you CAN output and record HD-SDI signals and SD-composite signals (output only) at the same time.

The setting for that is as follows:

1. Set the SD/HDMI/iLink I/O Select to SD HDMI i & DVCam

2. Set the Dual Link & Gamma Select to 1.5G YPbPr 422 & S-log

Tada, now you can output HD-SDI (through HD SDI A ) and SD composite (Through Video OUT and HDMI OUT) at the same time.

You CAN'T however output a HD HDMI signal at the same time, so I guess external recording is limited to the HD-SDI port.

That's why I love the F-3: It just has all the buttons and outputs you would want from a camera.

However, this might be an S-log Upgrade feature, so it might not work on all cameras.

Hope this helps!

Best,

Nico
