Hello seniors... need input was flying my 2 yr old rig... was doing live soccer match ... i balanced the camera on dock as usual (3 second drop) static balance and put it up my arm fine tune adjustment on head room etc did dynamic balance it spins nicely without any swaying... after a while waiting i put the sled on my shoulder(rest position) than when i was up felt the sled went off balance so i docked again and re adjusted put on my body and went flying again and to my horror after resting the whole sled went way off balance this time... i strip all my cables (tele light , j-7 ) leaving only the video out and it still went off balance again and the production team was screaming their heads off me and i operated wif off balanced sled (regretted doing that forces me to be on medical leave with a painful lower back)isit the top stage of my sled or isit smting else or isit me??? thanks for the input... btw i am a trained and certified op its just i only fly for past the 3 years

I know you addressed this to Seniors but I thought I would answer it anyway.

Don't know what kind of rig you have. Sounds to me like you did not tighten the allen cap screw enough which holds down your camera Steadicam dovetail plate to the top stage and it's slipping when you put it on your shoulder? Or possibly you mounted that plate to the camera backwards?

i apologize for using the term senior am not sure what should i call you guys, in part of my world we address the experienced 1's as seniors as a mark of respect while noobies are known as juniors... i am trying to be polite not being disrespectful to the experienced ops here, please accept my humble apologies on not using the proper english or caused any distress to other forumers upon reading this thread... :(

seniors

Guys... could we PLEASE watch our language on this forum... I am in complete awe at the derogatory terms being loosely thrown around these days. Between this thread and another, I am completely offended!

No worries Mohamad... no disrespect nor apology needed, I took a cheap shot at you calling us older (that don't really want to admit to ourselves that we are the old guys now), experienced guys Seniors. It was meant as a joke to make a point about another thread that has been removed. For that, I apologize to you. wink.gif

Its a bit harsh when you turn 40, you realize your "arms have gotten shorter" as my aunt would say and every year your eye glass prescription nearly doubles...
