Design Project Posted February 21, 2005 Report Share Posted February 21, 2005 We are a group of mechanical engineering students investigating various methods of camera control and mounting. The patented tilt mechanism of the Steadicam is of particular interest because of its efficiently clever design. We would like to understand it better and see if we can develop any ideas for improvement. Any feedback from Steadicam operators regarding the current design and potential future designs would be most appreciated. Other than that, the next step could be a tilt-head that you can adjust on-the-fly, while maintaining the balance in the rig. That will be a real technical challenge!
