Steadicam Zephyr shake?

Brent,

 

Add a dogbone, yes. Ditch the risers, yes. No rubber washers. In fact, ditch the extra barbell weight, I'm not sure how it's attached but it looks like it can't be at all rigid.

 

Run the sled at 10lbs payload if that's what you need to do to eliminate all the risers and , there's no magic to 15 other than the increased inertia.

Thanks for all the responses and tips. I seriously need to get a new set up or have one built. But I shot a music video last night and I used the DP's baseplate and rod set up. And I got zero shake. It was perfect, no complaints. So, gotta save up for that! Thanks again guys. Also whats a cheaper baseplate that I can pick up? Or alternative?

I keep a Berkey DSLR Baseplate in my diddy-bag for those occasions where I get to set to find that no one had the fore-thought to add a rail system to the camera package (this only happens on DSLR shoots). I also made myself a weight plate from a block of mild steel (about $30 from online metals). It's rigid, and it works awesomely.
