Keep downconverter in my kit?

I'm upgrading my monitor with an HDSDI board, which means I'll no longer need my Decimator 2 to monitor when I'm doing SDI jobs. I was going to just sell the decimator and cables, but I'm not sure if it'd be good to have in my kit as a "just in case" piece of equipment.

I doubt that the HDSDI input on my monitor would go down without the whole monitor going too, so I don't think it'd be useful there. (I'd just swap to a whole new monitor, rather than down converting then) I don't currently have a transmitter, and plan on renting a CamWave until a clear "winner" comes to the top of the pack in terms of transmitters, so I can't see a use for it there.

Has anybody with an HD monitor had to pull out their downconverter? Let me know, so I can avoid selling the thing and then having to re-buy one later on! Otherwise, it'll be up in the marketplace soon!

Hey Tom,

Hows it going? I would keep it as a back up just in case your HD wireless video

goes down and the only available ones for rent in your area is a SD one.

Am just saying you'll never know when you'll need it but its not heavy and

doesn't take up much space so it wouldn't hurt to have it around.

From where I come from in Asia we don't have much back up support for

HD wireless transmitters. Not sure about your side.

Hope that helps

Joel
