Premium Members Eli Aronoff Posted March 9, 2012 Premium Members Report Share Posted March 9, 2012 A few days ago I worked on a small job with a RED 1. It was a relatively light load... . A prime lens, battery, preston, etc. Didn't have a matte box on. I have an Ultra 1 sled. When I would check the drop time and pan up or down something was creaking. Not sure if it was the gimbal, the top stage, or the camera. At home with my practice cage there is no noise of coarse. (Same weight but not quit as long). Normally, I would've dismissed it and blamed it on the camera but this has happened once before when I assembled my practice cage to be twice as long as it would normally be. Back then I just thought it was the cage because of the wanky set up and I put it back to normal and it was fine. But now it happened on a job. Anyone have any ideas?? Unfortunately my gut tells me it was the top stage. Thanks for reading, Eli Aronoff
Bryant Swanstrom
I have the same thing on the Ultra 2. It sounds like it is coming from the bottom of the post but I haven't been able to take the time to pinpoint it yet. Only time I have ever heard it is doing drop time.
