Premium Members John E Fry Posted June 17, 2012 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 17, 2012 Any news on when the new vest might be available in the UK, & what sort of price? Might there be different versions to take different weight setups & rigs? For example, three weight rated models, smallest could be for the Scout, Flyer, Zephyr, then a mid-range one for Archers, EFPs, Clippers, Phantoms, and a big version for Phantoms, Masters, & Ultras. At least two sizes & prices should be reasonable. TV operators & smaller full rig owners should be able to take advantage of this great new design & not potentially miss out because the new vest is only available at Ultra spec & price. Any thoughts? Premium Members chris fawcett Posted June 17, 2012 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 17, 2012 Hi John, It flies any weight we've tried on it, and is in itself lightweight, so there will be one model for the foreseeable future. We're still at prototype stage, so don't have any details about release date and price. Presently, the parts count is about double that of a regular vest, so we're obviously working on reducing that before going into production. Premium Members David M. Aronson Posted June 18, 2012 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 18, 2012 I'd love to see someone try the 92Lb challenge with this vest.

Premium Members David M. Aronson Posted June 18, 2012 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 18, 2012 Tiffen vests do not fair well with flan...but I am sure Chris will scotch-guard the pads of his new cool vest now that he knows what we put the vests through! The new waist pads may help hold your underwear up giving you an unfair advantage. We'd have to butter the pads after scotch guarding them to keep it fair. Premium Members Michael Hauer Posted July 5, 2012 Premium Members Report Share Posted July 5, 2012 Is there anywhere in the eastern US that i can try out one of the prototypes? I am in the market for a new vest and want to know if i should wait for it to come out. Thanks!
Premium Members chris fawcett Posted July 5, 2012 Premium Members Report Share Posted July 5, 2012 Hi Michael, There are currently 3 prototypes, and one should be in Jerry Holway's hands this summer. You could try him, unless you fancy a visit to Amsterdam ;) All the best, Chris
Premium Members James Davis Posted July 5, 2012 Premium Members Report Share Posted July 5, 2012 Hey Chris, will there be one at the Barcelona tiffen workshop? Cheers James
Premium Members chris fawcett Posted July 5, 2012 Premium Members Report Share Posted July 5, 2012 Hi James, Unfortunately, I won't be attending that workshop. For now, the prototypes are staying with the main engineers (and me) until we finalise the design. Anyone is welcome to try out a prototype, but that means coming to one of us for now. I'm very sorry about this, but we're at a crucial stage of the design, and we all need to keep on top of the changes. One will be at IBC in September. Premium Members chris fawcett Posted July 6, 2012 Premium Members Report Share Posted July 6, 2012 Hi Mariano, I can't say for sure when it will be ready. We're working our hardest on finalising it soon. All the best, Chris
Premium Members Markus Kuballa Posted July 6, 2012 Premium Members Report Share Posted July 6, 2012 Hey Chris! Do you know if there is gonna be one at Cinec in Munich ?
Premium Members chris fawcett Posted July 6, 2012 Premium Members Report Share Posted July 6, 2012 Hi Markus, That is unlikely, though not impossible. I'm very sorry to disappoint you, but we're in the thick of some great design rationalisations right now. All very exciting (for us). We're working as fast as we can! soren k jensen
Dear Chris, One suggestion: add a shoulder mount option that can quickly go on and off. I often switch between Easyrig/TurtleX shoulder mount, Flyer, sticks and handheld during the same day, It would be really nice to let the exovest improve on shoulder mount possibilities!
