Just wanted to share a low-cost lemo connector source.

I don't know this company but I've tried lesser connectors supposedly equivalent to Lemo and they dont' hold up.

 

This isn't my specialty, connectors that is but I'm not going to skimp a few dollars and risk a shot, paycheck or reputation to it.

I tried using their LEMO connectors for my 12V power input and it works just fine.

 

That was for power though, either it's ON or it's OFF. Nothing in between.

 

Have not used it for any signal cables yet but I have a few spares lying around from my last purchase - I'll try it over the next 2 weeks and let you guys know.......

Are we individually going through connectors in such volume that a lower cost multiplied over that quantity will really make a difference?

 

As far as power connectors being ON or OFF, I can think of a few in betweens: brittle due to temperature, shattered, poorly constructed, or any other combination of factors that result in a terrible third state: GROUNDED.

Through the years I have tried some of the Lemo "generic equivalents" and I can say that they are NOT the same. What is it worth to you to run the risk that at some unforeseen "opportunity," the slightly less expensive power cable or start/stop cable fails right in the middle of something that is not repeatable? For my money, zero-failure connections are the goal, not saving ten or twenty bucks on connectors. The embarrassment factor alone should be enough to shame you into making smart purchases when it comes to system reliability and performance! Spend the money! The peace of mind is priceless!!
