Is that a steadicam type rig? - I dont' seen an arm or gimble (i don't think...), Or is it just a harness thing (like polecam)? I sore the original pics on the actioncam website in the first place. There is no info on the stopmotion setup at all other than a vid clip and photo's. Who made it ? actioncam ?? Who did the stopmotion setup for the actioncam. Why did they go with that strange arm setup on their rigs ?? Can anybody shed some light on this great toy ? Those photos have really made my day... I love it! Im sure he's using the arm and gimble (although not in the traditional way) . It would be very heavy otherwise. It looks like one film camera (motion picture) and 12 x 35mm stills camera's. I can t work out what film camera it is though. If I remember correctly it was made to make a pov from a musquito or a wasp,and combined with not stop-motion but time/slice camera´s and a little 16 or video cam in that array as well. So he could approach a subject and at a certain moment they made the virtual move (in post) out of the camera array. The guy from Actioncam is certainly an inventive person, though I think he used for important parts of his rigs a too low grade design/material. But I still admire his idea of th one-spring arm with a range greater than the "big" arms and as much lifting capacity. It has just not been developed fully (yet?. costasflex Posted March 10, 2005 Report Share Posted March 10, 2005 that goes back a few years ago. Thats Brian the maker of the actioncam a very innovative guy. I think the set up was one bolex s16 and 11 slrs. placing the bolex on one far side and tracing the image throu video assist, and also tracing the image of the last slr, covering a 100 degrees curve or so, in varius angles using the roll and tilt of the sled as he was running around with the sled horizontial to the ground. the arm was the old action arm with a torsion spring. Now Ikonoscope makes these really nice s16 cams that weight with lens and bat and mag 1.5 kilos.
