Debut Reel

Recommended Posts

After 1.5 years of dabbling in steadicam and spending the past year focusing in on it, I still think I am not ready to post my reel for critique by the amount of talent and experience that hangs around this forum. I have cut, re-cut and then re-cut. Then, I waited for more jobs to get better footage and then re-cut some more to try and make something that I felt comfortable posting here. This morning I realized, it could be 10 years in the future and I would still be nervous posting on this forum. So here it is, my first public reel.

I am still seriously thinking about what should be taken out or replaced with other footage.

Thank you,

Bryant

Overall not bad. I have 2 points.

First, your focus puller killed a few shots. the out of focus shots bothered me a bit.

I have a feeling you have a pretty fast drop time on your sled. You had quite a bit of headroom variations, sometimes giving them a severe haircut, sometimes giving it a little too much space.

Your level is great, I liked the whip pan on the concert shot. Just work on the headroom stuff, eventually slow down your drop time...
