Mark Baluk
Depending on what you're looking to do, a cheap and easy thing is ebay search up whdi. you can get a transmitter the size of a usb stick that'll transmit hdmi for a short distance
Premium Members Alan Rencher Posted May 31, 2012 Premium Members Report Share Posted May 31, 2012 Take a look at the hot rod camera booth at cine gear. Word is, there will be a small company bringing whdi to the pro market.

That's less than what some decent SD transmitters go for, and especially to do broadcast quality.

I think Guilherme means he's looking for something costing $1,000-$2,000 USD (he says: "1 or 2 K us"). Guilherme, I've heard good reports about the Switronic Recons so far, although I think they're priced up to get their early dollars before we'll see a modest price cut. Otherwise, keep an eye out, someone must have something on the horizon.
Premium Members Ken Nguyen Posted May 31, 2012 Premium Members Report Share Posted May 31, 2012 For the range of 1km - 2 km live broadcast, $1000 to $2000 just might covers for a day of rental only. There is no such HDMI or even SD system with that coverage range sold for $2000 or less. Cheers, Ken Nguyen.

Premium Members Peter Hoare Posted June 2, 2012 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 2, 2012 Have a look at the Paralinx Arrow. Its fairly new, im sharing a booth with them at Cinegear. Its very small and light, its like a USB stick with an HDMI plug on it, it almost weighs nothing. Its uncompressed 1920x1080 HD with very low latency maybe 2 frames or so. Its cheap at 999 dollars including cables.

Premium Members William Demeritt Posted June 2, 2012 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 2, 2012 I'll check out the Paralinx today, but with the specs I see online and the price I can finally say: SOMEONE GOT IT!!!! I need to see the powering options, but it looks good.
Premium Members Mark Schlicher Posted June 2, 2012 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 2, 2012 There's a discussion about it on Reduser.net, too. Looks like it's loosely based on the consumer WHDI solutions with a few refinements. Reception could be limited by the lack of multiple antennas? Tx powered by a d-tap to 5V converting cable (included), Rx by 5V USB Lithium batteries (which I don't think are included). Looking forward to your impressions! Premium Members Afton Grant Posted June 2, 2012 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 2, 2012 Isn't it HDMI only? That's not so good.
