Michelle,

Thank you for everything! You guys were great. Just wonderful to see you all and all the cool new products. I'm so happy with the direction you guys are taking PRO. It is so nice to know we are still in good hands. I'm looking forward to seeing the new shop on Wed. Thanks again.

What's a 92lb challenge?

Ron, you want to take this one?

ok...here goes:

the 92 lb challenge was something that Pro had been trying to do for a while. It involved a 92lb weakling (me), a slip-n-slide, 3 hands-free segways (driven by Frenchmen of course), a digital bartech, 2 digital heden motors, a walkie, a dozen camera screws, a go-pro and a bucket of flan.

1st, I was stripped down to my undies (most the on-lookers fled at this point), the bartech receiver was velcroed to my back hair and a heden motor was attached to each ankle. A string was run from the motor gears to my undies. I was to try to run from the Pro booth to the Tiffen booth on the slip-n-slide while covered in flan.

But that wasn't the hard part -- Pedro had the new uber-cool bartech remote with two channel capabilities and was trying pull my skivies down with the motors on my ankles (naturally, the go-pro was attached to the bartech, aimed at Pedro so he can do a tutorial on puling down underwear in 3d). I was armed only with camera screws, which I was throwing at the walkie, desperately trying to key it (which would interrupt the bartech's signal and stop my trou from dropping, saving many a law suite...and many a lunch). The screw-tossing required an enormous amount of concentration because the three Frenchmen on the segways were flicking cigarette butts at my head while circling me -- they were especially aggravated that Lisagav is not exported to France and not privy to the numerous benefits to be had with the noble lube. Speaking of lube, I probably don't have to explain the joys of being covered with flan, but unfortunately I was using flan from Jumbos which has a high percentage of moonshine...the cigarettes ignited the flan before I could make it to the Tiffen booth. Epic failure (to use an often used term when in the presence of Reds).

I am typing this from the burn unit in Torrence...next year will be a success.

I bet that was quite a show. Did the Frenchmen get arrested? I can't believe I missed it. I showed up @ 1 pm on Friday because I a can't read very gud or follow directions all that well. Better luck next year Ron and keep the burns salved up. May the 'gav work it's healing magic.

The nurses here at the burn unit let me go online again to say thanks for the well wishes, and sorry to Pro for the thread-jack.

There was a constant crowd of surly steadicam ops at the Pro booth nearly 24/7 -- all drooling over really nice, simple and innovative technology to make our jobs easier. The new arm is sweet, the new lw base is awesome, the grey canisters are...well, they make my hernia flare up just looking at them. The new money and space saving options with their gimbal is a wonderful idea, as is continuing the supply of dbox 2 parts.

Their camera screws are the only caveat -- the un-aerodynamic nature of the Pro screw leaves much to be desired when it comes to tossing/throwing/flicking/lobbing/pitching and (god forbid) expecting a small grouping to save one's dignity. The Pro screw need work. Everything else is sweet!

ah...morphine's here
