Hi all in Steadicam world?

This in kind of a weird question but has anyone ever had there rig painted? Dose Tiffen, Gpi, Mk-v or anyone else do such a thing or have you heard of anyone who dose?

I assume you mean you want to restore your rig to remove scratches etc? I know you can get your arm re-adonized if that helps

do everything with your rig,but pleeeeease don´t paint it !!!!!!!

if you really want to spend a lot of mony let it readonise(is that the word?).

some scratches don´t hurt your rig and if it looks used, you look like a experienced operator.

once you PAINt your rig ,you definitely will havesome problems with fine parts and pieces of PAINt that stick where they are not supposed to stick.

(little trick: a black marker-pen for little scratches works too!)

now, ifyou still want to paint your rig make it at least very colourful !!!!!

mayby yellow,.....with pink stars,......the top stage could be lime-green,.......you could paint the batteries as well,.......maybe bright orange?....

stick with your rig

cheers ;) sebastian

In the undying words of Ted Churchill:

"With the careful and sensitive use of sand paper, steel wool and the common file it is possible to make the vest, arm, and camera platform look like they and you have come through many a trying but triumphant encounter. Look at any rental Steadicam and you will quickly determine scrapes, marks, and wear points occur. Emulate them exactly. But don't overwork the front of the monitor or sled, as it implies an undue amount of contact with foreign objects such as walls, doors, the ground and (God forbid!) the faces of talent."

Don't paint. <grin>
