Premium Members Jess Haas SOC Posted June 26, 2012 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 26, 2012 What are your needs? Are you looking for free hosting or paid? How often do you need to update it? If the answer is paid and that you don't need to update it very often I can host it for you rather cheaply. ~Jess
Premium Members Kevin Andrews SOC Posted June 26, 2012 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 26, 2012 iWeb is the program on your mac and you can still use it for your site. You just need to find another host instead of Mobile Me and publish to that host. Looks like Jess has an option.

Premium Members James Davis Posted June 26, 2012 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 26, 2012 I would look into getting something built on the wordpress platform, you can have it hosted wherever and update it really easily by logging into the content management system yourself. I'm not a guy who is particularly knowledgeable about web design, but it only took a couple of hours with the designer explaining me a thing or two before I could easily update my own site. Premium Members Kevin Andrews SOC Posted June 26, 2012 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 26, 2012 I'm switching my iWeb created site over to these guys this week. http://www.newmobileme.net/ Saw some good words about them on Twitter and such. I just don't have the time to rebuild my site right now, but like James mentioned, wordpress is the way of the future.
Premium Members Tom Wills Posted June 26, 2012 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 26, 2012 I use HostGator. They're cheap, I've had no downtime as of yet, and the customer service has been decent for the few times I've had to contact them. I've got the "Baby" plan, because I may run multiple domains, but the "Hatchling" plan is around $5 a month if you buy a year's worth, and should do fine if you're running a single domain. http://www.hostgator.com/shared You can very easily just use FTP from iWeb to upload to any major web host - it doesn't require any special setup. I use iWeb for all my site designing, and I've never had MobileMe.
Mark Baluk
Although I'm not the 100% biggest fan, bbecause I had limitations on my account (my fault, i guess)... But i've been using 1and1.com for about 6 years without any downtime. Stay clear of netfirms.com, downtime all the time! I too can offer you hosting at a minimal cost, with the databases set up for wordpress, etc.
Premium Members Mike Germond SOC Posted June 26, 2012 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 26, 2012 (edited) I'll chime in because I have a lot of background in web hosting and building sites, I use DreamHost (www.dreamhost.com). Free domains with new registration, since you already have one maybe it's a good opportunity to buy it in .net as well. I use them because they are incredibly stable, never down time, a big company that will never disappear overnight on you, and my storage & bandwidth are unlimited. I store over 10gb of media on my server and average 1gb-2gb of traffic per month, but you may not have those demands. It's nice not to have a ceiling though. I pay every 2 years but it breaks down to $8.95/mo. They could have promotions right now, I can always seem to find coupon codes for them. Things that might be good for you are that they offer One-Click installs for Content Management Systems via your admin panel. While I don't use these because I built my site from scratch, you have options for all the major CMS companies (WordPress, Joomla, etc) free of charge. Their tech support will help you with questions that aren't even in their jurisdiction too. They also offer to host your email through Gmail which gets you a Google Apps account and a better webmail interface. I don't get a bonus for raving about them (although I'm sure they offer a perk if I refer you), I'm just an extremely satisfied customer. I've had them since 2007 and never once encountered a problem. Good luck with your decision! Edited June 26, 2012 by Mike Germond
Premium Members Andrew Ansnick Posted June 27, 2012 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 27, 2012 www.mediatemple.net Best site for hosting and GREAT customer service available 24/7. Probably overkill for what your needs are but definitely worth it! I still use iWeb to design and publish my site and then host it via Media Temple. That being said, I have a few friends that have been using Wix.com to design and host their sites with much success, one of which used to use iWeb as well. Premium Members David M. Aronson Posted June 27, 2012 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 27, 2012 I use HelioHost and I haven't had any issues with them. Never had downtime, easy script installation, and it's FREE! I use a wordpress platform mainly because I wanted a blog on my site, but it works great.
