Premium Members RonBaldwin Posted August 3, 2012 Premium Members Report Posted August 3, 2012 I would have thought that whichever company made the cases for panavision made the necessary changes to the aks case to hold the bottle'n stuff? So you are saying that Panavision altered their own cases instead of having it made? Quote

Premium Members RonBaldwin Posted August 3, 2012 Premium Members Report Posted August 3, 2012 Nice! I had no idea they still made them. Now all that is needed is a phone call, credit card and bribe cash. Eric...is Dexter Panavision? Been so long since I worked out of there I don't have contacts anymore. I will check Pana NY today! Premium Members William Demeritt Posted August 3, 2012 Premium Members Report Posted August 3, 2012 Right now, you guys have a few dozen members Googling "PanaBar" to see if it's compatible with their Merlin / Flyer / Glidecam. Quote

Premium Members RonBaldwin Posted August 3, 2012 Premium Members Report Posted August 3, 2012 Ok...apparently Master Cases makes them for panavision -- around $550. They are bigger than I thought. Master Cases is swamped right now so will take a while to build a few. Let's stay together on this and get them done at the same time! Mine will have a built-in pole. Quote
Premium Members Lawrence Karman Posted August 3, 2012 Premium Members Report Posted August 3, 2012 I think I know who has the original PanaBar (made for Bill Fraker). Checking to see if he's sober enough to want to sell it to one of you lushes. Quote
Premium Members RonBaldwin Posted August 3, 2012 Premium Members Report Posted August 3, 2012 Love that! A bar with a history! Quote

Bill Ku Posted December 10, 2013 Report Posted December 10, 2013 I was Fraker's 2nd for a few shows and one of my responsibilities was keeping the Panabar stocked with ice and Chivas.i am pretty sure I have a pic of it somewhere, i'll have to dig through my archives.Panavision presented him with the case, it was a white anvil case, one that they shipped zoom lenses in.It had a center cutout for an ice bucket - and after one show (1992?) we presented him with a new sterling silver engraved ice bucket to replace the old one that he had in it.Flanking the ice bucket, i seem to remember there were 2 cutouts on each side for bottles and in front and on a lower level were cutouts for tumblers. On the front body of the case (below the lid) was an engraved placard that read "Panabar" Quote
