Premium Members Eric Fletcher S.O.C. Posted August 29, 2012 Premium Members Report Share Posted August 29, 2012 My real question is : what will Eric do ? Cheers Frederic Tell us how great the new monitor is and then say something nasty to me. It's awesome and your hair is grey (that's the only nasty thing I could think of to say to you)
Premium Members chris bangma Posted August 29, 2012 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted August 29, 2012 You can adjust the size of the on screen level to fit. In its smallest size, it will fit above or below the framelines. You will also have the ability to slightly shrink the image, giving you more room for the level. Even with the slightly shrinking the image, to fit the larger bubble level, a 16:9 image will still be larger than 16:9 on the 6.5" monitor. I would also wait for the 6.5 ... But it seems not to be on the drawing board right now . Only reason I bought the 6.5 was to have the level "under" my image in the black bars but if for any reason , this won't be feasable with the gen 2 , i'll just jump on the 7" wagon . My real question is : what will Eric do ? Cheers Frederic

Premium Members Thomas English Posted August 30, 2012 Premium Members Report Share Posted August 30, 2012 Can someone get a lightmeter and feed a Transvideo HD and a Cinetronics the same greyscale and report spot meter readings? I think Erwin was inquiring as to whether there was one in Europe to look at not if you could take the monitor in the bubble bath at 1:30am.. that was me. Premium Members chris bangma Posted August 30, 2012 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted August 30, 2012 We will not be at Cinec. Maybe one of the owners of a Gen1 will bring theirs to Cinec? Will you have a new style monitor at Cinec?
Premium Members chris bangma Posted August 30, 2012 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted August 30, 2012 Just to clarify for people upgrading. When we take your Gen1 monitor in, we are essentially giving you a $3600 credit on a new monitor. When you upgrade you will be receiving a COMPLETELY NEW monitor! The turn around will be very quick, since the new monitor will be sent upon receipt of the old one. We will not be using any of the Gen1 components in the Gen2 monitor. Everything will be new parts. Since it is a new monitor, you will also get a new 1 year warranty upon receipt of the new monitor as well. Some people have balked at the upgrade price, and hopefully after this explanation, you can understand we are trying to be as fair as possible. No it's just that at 1:30am those that can answer are asleep Oh, I am painfully aware of the time difference Eric. Of all people you should know. After Chris answered three other posts first, I felt left out... Call me bi-curious. I always look at the new things, especially the LCD/OLED developments and if they are worth while. I bought and sold a couple of LCD monitors and still have my trusty TB-6. And I mean trusty... after 10 years still works, which i can't say for the back up TB-6 that I got 3 years ago... that just dumped the High Voltage Power Supply... sitting in a case... waiting for the day that the first one goes bum... or was supposed to... Oh well. Apparently not everybody slept in LA. Had a very nice and long chat with Greg Bubb yesterday. About LCD's and Green screen, etc... Guess I am on the waiting list for the PDL/TB-6 HD upgrade... Good Luck with the generation 2 monitor, If I ever get a chance, I'll check it out! Fly safe, Erwin
