Next Step After Flyer - Hire in London?

Hi All,

I did the 5 day workshop a year ago and since then have done many shoots with my Flyer. I'm not yet at a point where Steadicam could support me. I do a variety of things from production management, multimedia, writing through to camera op (DSLR) and Steadicam. I'm getting to the point where I'd like to push the my Steadicam skills to the next level. I enjoyed the larger rigs I used on the workshop and would like to use them for a couple of shoots I'm working on in September. I'd like to work with them for a few days before deciding if I want to make the leap to a bigger rig next year.

Sorry, I'm waffling...

My real question is - does anyone know of a London based hire facility? I have two weekend shoots in September. I'm not fussy about the rig - Master, Archer, anything would be awesome. I'm fully insured.

Thanks for any pointers,

Paul

Hey Paul,

get in touch with Optical Support, they'll sort you out.

Cheers

Thanks Fabrizio - that's really helpful. I'll give them a call.

James - do I really need to preface everything I ask with "I am aware that search engines exist but I'd like some human advice"? Are you the school bully type or just slightly Aspergers prone?

James,

not that your answer is welcoming... Sarcasm is not constructive nor polite, I believe Paul (which I don't know) didn't deserve that as a first answer. If you're looking for polite answers you should give first example.

If you are not looking for helping out people visiting the forum and asking questions, may I suggest you, simply don't reply.

You may be the one looking for fellows ops opinion next time, and I bet, you wouldn't want somebody that tells you to Google it. ;)

It was intended as tongue in cheek, sadly tone isn't always easily conveyed online.

Paul if you'd like to hire a complete kit package I'd be potentially able to help you out with personally,

Shoot me an email or give me a call if you want and we'll see what we can work out,

I agree with your point Fabrizio, I just thought his "are you aspergers prone" comment slightly out of order....
